| Volunteer Opportunities: |

In preparation for the winter season, the Warming Center depends on the assistance of volunteers throughout the community to help staff and operate the shelters. Shelter/s will open between November 15 and March 31 on nights when temperatures drop to 28 degrees or below. The shelter open for guests at 7:00pm and close at 8:00am the following morning. Volunteer teams are organized into three different separate shifts between the hours of 5:00pm to 9:00am when to set up the shelter, provide supervision and oversight during operation and to clean up afterward.

Compile a database of willing volunteers

Organize various sites and volunteers into "on-call" service teams

Mobilize service teams into action when temperatures reach 28 degrees or below

Individuals interested in volunteering at a Warming Center must complete a Volunteer Application by completing the Online Form or by downloading a (.pdf) version of the Volunteer Application and other tools from the Download Center. Warming Center volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and must be willing to attend a required Volunteer Orientation session prior to serving. At the conclusion of the training all volunteers will need to complete and sign a Volunteer Agreement Form and a form indicating their availability and contact information.
